Jay Patterson and Cory Enderson bought the Leaf, a Premier Cigar, Pipe and Tobacco shop in downtown Abilene three years ago. Their timing could not have been better, the Pandemic hit right after they closed, and the lease was not renewed by their Landlord forcing them within the first year to find a new location and do a complete buildout, all while not losing customers. Now three years in and they're stronger than ever, helping stock other businesses with cigars, and being nationally ranked as one of the top cigar places. 

We talk about how they met and how they decided to purchase the Leaf, how long it took to actually close on the deal, and how having an understanding of each other's roles and expectations is key to a good business partner. They've dealt with building permits, contractors not getting it right on the buildout, advertising in a restricted tobacco field, maintaining their customer base and building an even better ambiance and experience at the Leaf.
